The Millbrook High School women's basketball team of Raleigh, NC shares a strong bond on and off the court. There is rarely a moment when someone isn't cracking a joke or showing of their dance moves. The 2013 season was special for the team though because it was the senior year for a lot of their best players and their last chance at another state championship for a while. The team achieved their dream, going undefeated for their entire season and went on to win the State Championship in the Deam Dome.

Siler City's economy has been in a downward spiral recently as several manufacturing plants that provided the majority of the jobs have closed. The most recent plant to close was the Townsend chicken processing plant. That closing caused a lot of farms in the area to close or move to cattle farming. About half of the population is Hispanic and they have been opening stores as part of the process of rebuilding the town. The Arts Incubator and several charity organizations are also working towards building the town back up.
Blue Heron Farm is a group of people who live together in intentional community in rural Pittsboro. They seek to know their neighbors intimately and actively help one another aout however possible. Members also seek to live environmentally and economically soumd lives, by often using solar energy, growing their own food, and building their own houses. The community also has laws against violence and makes decisions unanimously. The group belives in the power of a simple life apart from the noise and pressure to conform they have found in other places. They want to live the best quality of life possible, and they have created this sort of paradise where that is possible.
